Before launching Water & Environment International, LLC in 2015, Mr. Terrence Thompson was a Senior Environmental Health Advisor for the World Health Organization, covering the Asia-Pacific region for over 15 years.
He previously worked for the Pan American Health Organization, over ten years, in Ecuador, South American and in small island developing states of the Caribbean region. Throughout his career, Mr. Thompson has advised numerous government authorities and international development partners on a broad range of water, environment and health technical issues and policy matters.
He began his career in 1978 as a Wastewater Reclamation Engineer in the Virgin Islands before working in the USA as an environmental project manager for several major US consulting firms and, later, as the regulator of drinking water quality for the City of New York.
Mr. Thompson brings over 25 years of international experience to the company, including personal contacts with policy makers and practitioners in many Asia Pacific countries, as well as counterparts in major international development organizations. His technical expertise and experience spans all areas of Water & Environment International, LLC’s services and he is particularly known for supporting inter-country technical cooperation programs and environmental health policy fora.
Mr. Thompson holds a BS in civil engineering and an MS in environmental engineering. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the USA, Board certified by the American Academy of Environmental Engineers, a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers, and a Life Fellow of the Institution of Public Health Engineers (India).
