Mr. Virabouth has more than 35-years of experience as a project engineer, project manager, and government regulator in the WASH sector in his home country and extensive experience throughout Southeast Asia through inter-country cooperation mechanisms.
His experience spans diverse aspects of project development including project management, engineering, technical and economic studies, studies on technical standards, project analysis and appraisal, project accounting and financial issues, database development, and others.
Mr. Virabouth is past president of the Southeast Asian Water Utilities Network (SEAWUN).
He has been a consultant to the World Health Organization and to UN Habitat. Mr. Virabouth is widely recognized as a leading regional expert on Water Safety Plans.
