By profession an Agricultural Engineer, worked over 30 years in emerging countries of the Global South, basically as a Programme Manager and Technical Advisor in the area of Environmental Health.

Expertise in project cycle management in the fields of Clean water and sanitation, Chemical safety, Sustainable communities, Climate action for health, Food security and Agroecology.

Most recent postings: World Health Organization (15 years) in Manila, Quito and New Delhi as Regional and National Programme Manager.

In 2000, worked for Food and Agriculture Organization as Manager of a rural program in the Sahel countries.

In Madagascar for the German Development Cooperation (GIZ) he coordinated a demand-based, research-backed, action-oriented initiative to promote and sustain chemical safety for 5 years.

Led a national integrated pest management program for the Swiss Development Cooperation, 5 years. Before obtaining the Masters in development studies in 1991, worked in Peru for 7 years overseeing the rural development projects supported by Germany.
